How to Load a Message On Hold Program Directly into a TalkSwitch System |
Pertains to: TalkSwitch 24-CA; TalkSwitch 48-CA, TalkSwitch 48-CVA.

How to Last Updated: 3/28/2006
Situation:
You have purchased a Message On Hold program from us, and wish to load it directly into your TalkSwitch system.
Article:
All TalkSwitch systems have a MUSIC jack on the back of the unit which accepts output from an external Message On Hold playback device, enabling your callers to hear Message On Hold announcements while on hold, parked, queued, or transferred. With the introduction of the 24-CA, 48-CA, and 48-CVA models noted above, it is also possible to load a Message On Hold audio file directly into the TalkSwitch unit itself, making the use of an external player unnecessary.
PLEASE NOTE: Even though these files have a '.WAV' extension, they are encoded in a special format used by telephone systems. 'Normal' .wav files, MP3 files, files ripped from a CD, or other audio files cannot be loaded into a TalkSwitch system. If you have existing Message On Hold programs that you need to have converted into this special format, please contact us and we'll be happy to help you.
For more information about this special encoding, please consult the following Knowledgebase article:
